National Techies Day

National Techies Day on October 3rd encourages students to consider a career in technology.

Did you know that October 3rd is designated as National Techies Day

It's hard not to love all the conveniences of technology, but National Techies Day is about more than just the regular technology enthusiast.

This annual day of commemoration was originally created to promote careers in technology among young people. Technology has always been and will continue to be a vital foundation in progress. In the future, tech will dominate almost everything, so it’s only sensible that our country invests in technology education and skills.

October is also National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing fields in the country and the demand for well-trained cyber pros is higher than ever. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for Information Security Analysts is projected to grow 32 percent from 2018 to 2028 and 21 percent for Software Developers over the same period.

As technology becomes more and more integrated into our everyday lives, our need for individuals who truly know their way around technology has exploded. With so many opportunities in the growing technology industry, anyone seeking a career in technology will be sure to find promising opportunities wherever they look!

You can learn more about careers in cyber by visiting the National Initiative For Cybersecurity Careers and Studies career page niccs.us-cert.gov.
